Al Carrell

Super Handyman Al Carrell is a syndicated columnist, author, radio and television personality and recognized authority on home building and home improvement.

Syndicated by the King Features Syndicate, his popular column runs in over 250 newspapers throughout the U.S. and Canada. He has published six books. “The Super Handyman’s Encyclopedia of Home Repair Hints” enjoyed 22 printings and was a Popular Science Book Club selection. His most recent book, “The Super Handyman’s Home Care Almanac” is currently in bookstores.

Al has been a guest on NBC’s Today Show, ABC’s Good Morning America, ABC’s Home Show and the Discovery Channel’s Home Matters.

Al co-hosts a 30 minute show, Your New House, which runs on the Home & Garden TV cable channel throughout the country.

Jason Vander Vorste

Jason Vander Vorste is president of Woodland Builders and is the designer and builder of the 2008 Annual Carrell How-to House his fifth in the How-to House series.

Jason has been in the construction industry since 1986 and he started Woodland Builders in 1994 with a desire to build unique, quality homes for 21st century families.

Jason not only builds new homes, he also provides renovation, home design services, commercial construction and commercial remodeling. Jason is also a nine-year veteran of the commercial electric industry.

Jason is a member of the Better Business Bureau, the Tyler Chamber of Commerce, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and home builders associations at the local, state and national levels. Jason is also a past board member of the Tyler Area Builders Association.
