For this edition of the Al Carrell How-to House, builder Jason Vander Vorste has again chosen Ranger Custom Millwork, Inc.
Starting in the kitchen (photo 2)(photo 3), Brad Ranger crafted cabinets of first-quality hard maple wood. The wood has been distressed and features decorative crown moulding and moulding on the bottoms of the cabinets. The drawers are self-closing and the doors feature soft-close hardware. Also note the custom appliance panels on the refrigerator and the dishwasher.
In the butler pantry, you again see hard maple wood, self-closing drawers and soft-close hardware. Ranger has also created a custom wine rack and a custom back panel on the bar wall. There are also two wine racks in the pantry.
In the master bath, you again see hard maple wood, custom base trim around the bottoms of the cabinets and custom tub panels.
In the office/study (photo 2), the wood changes to quarter-sawn white oak. This room also features custom base trim throughout and radius base trim under the windows.
In the upstairs baths and the his and hers master closets, Ranger has employed paint-grade poplar wood and full extension slides.
In the hallway leading to the kitchen, you find paint-grade poplar and a custom design for storage under the stairway.
The process of creating cabinets begins with a computerized custom design. Materials are carefully chosen, taking into account the design and decorating scheme of the home.
The cabinets are then created by Brad Ranger and the staff of Ranger Custom Millwork, Inc. in their 20,000 square foot, state-of-the-art production facility and showroom. The cabinets are built to extremely precise tolerances and specifications and are ready to install in the home.
Brad Ranger and the staff at Ranger Custom Millwork, Inc. have been accenting fine East Texas homes for over 32 years and they bring more than a century of combined experience and expertise to the 2008 Annual Al Carrell How-to House.
Again in 2008, Ranger Custom Millwork, Inc., Woodland Builders, Al Carrell and the staffs of KTBB & KDOK Radio wish to honor the memory of Michael Ranger (Oct. 1, 1973 - Oct. 10, 2003). Michael is the man who led Ranger Custom Millwork’s
