Wilhite Landscape and Lawn Care is again proud to have been selected to provide the landscape for the Al Carrell How-to House.

This year, as with all other years, Wilhite has paid special attention to the soil preparation and great care has been taken to ensure the optimum health for each plant. The soil preparation is truly as important as the foundation was to the construction of the house itself.

Some of the plants that charm the gardens are Encore “Autumn Embers” azaleas that wrap the home in a deep orange-red color three times a year. Another unusual plant is the loropetalum “Pixie” thate greets family and friends at the entry of the sidewalk with a splash of purple color.

Other color throughout the gardens is provided by yellow Carolina Jessamine that cascades over most of the stone walls surrounding the property. White Dwarf Gardenias fill the air with a pleasant fragrance. Yellow “Julia Childs” roses are planted near ‘Natchez’ white crape myrtle trees and the color grand finale - majestic blue and yellow pansies throughout the gardens.

The front entry water feature provides visible and audible relaxation to all that pass by and the back garden water feature has one urn pouring water into another for a ‘never full’ illusion.

Unusual plants, new ideas for water features, pleasant fragrances and bold colors are blended together in this How-to House to create an enjoyable, relaxing garden experience that welcomes family and friends to this magnificent home.
